GW Evans Dental Lab was founded 1st November, 1985 by Dental Technician Grant Evans. He leased rooms in a Dental Surgery at Morphett Vale prior to building a purpose built lab at his residence in Happy Valley.

In 1992 GW Evans Dental Laboratory Pty Ltd embarked on expansion program to include Cobalt Chrome Alloy Denture Casting. Mr James Morrison joined us after working in London and an Adelaide Dental Laboratory for more than 30 years. As expansion continued a Receptionist/Courier Driver was employed.

In 1994 the Dental Lab had been outgrown and to facilitate further expansion it was decided to move premises. After much consideration it was decided appropriate to move to the current premises a converted 4 bedroom house at 22 Paringa Avenue Somerton Park.

In 1996 Director, Grant Evans completed a specialist course in Custom Laminated Mouthguards. Initially there was a resistance to accept the new Laminated Mouthguard Designs by Dental Surgeries. Grant Evans embarked on educating and promoting Custom Laminated Mouthguards directly to the Sporting Clubs, Teams and schools, Performance Mouthguards was born. Due to the high demand for our product Dentists and Sales Representatives were employed. As mouthguard production increased rapidly, in 1997 Ms Kathy Stavrianakis was employed to manage Performance Mouthguards Dental Laboratory. After 8 years of dedicated hard work, for which we thank her, Kathy left our employ and has moved to work for Briteguard in Victoria.

 

Mr. Jason Patrick was employed as our Laboratory Manager in 2003 and brings his experience from training in the UK. Mrs. Mirsada Sabanovic joined us in November 2005 as our new manager of the mouthguard department, her desire to work to a very high standard fits well with the philosophy of our dental laboratory. We currently train TAFE students from the Gilles Plains Dental Faculty in all aspects of our laboratory production. In 2006 our laboratory has grown to consist of four acrylic prosthetic dental technicians, one chrome cobalt technician, two dentists, two receptionist, one bookkeeper and a part time accountant.

Our Infection Control Procedures follow the ACDLA guidelines, service and quality are second to no other Laboratory. Our Chrome Cobalt Castings come with a 3 year unconditional warranty, however, this does not cover patients dropping or adjusting the castings.
